About Claire

Multi-Disciplinary Designer, Creator,  + Performer

The Designer

Claire is an architectural designer who is fascinated by immersive experiences and the way the body interacts with space. They graduated in 2016 from the DAAP architecture undergraduate program at the University of Cincinnati and went on to get their masters from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte, where they also worked as a woodshop assistant. While they have worked in various firms all over the country, Claire found that they enjoy intimate projects that heavily focus on the experience of the end user. This lead them to a Enclosures, a small residential firm in Los Angeles. Additionally, they also had the opportunity to work with event creators to make concept images to communicate the set expectations to different venues. While proficient in technical drawings for permitting and construction, they enjoy using visual communications and digital modeling to tell a story for their clients and thrives most in collaborative, creative workspaces.

The Performer

Dance and movement have always been a part of Claire’s life. From climbing trees in their backyard, to spinning riffles in drum corps, to ballroom, and pole, so it was no surprise when they started to take aerial classes as a means to pull themselves out of the design studio a few times a week during grad school. That’s when Claire fell in love with being in the air, usually found on a hoop or trapeze. Shortly after moving across the county and getting into the groove of a new studio, the plague came. In the midst’s of the shutdowns and living in one of the last places to get moving again, Claire was lucky enough to have a balcony large enough (and neighbors cool enough) to set up their aerial frame and continue conditioning their work. They have performed self choreographed solo work,

They think the world looks better when they’re upside down and prides themselves on wild dynamic motion. Using a combination of their design sensibilities and musical intuition, Claire creates masterful performances in ways that may be unconventional and enjoys experimentation.

They are always open to performance opportunities and artistic co-creations.
